Landmark Hospital Awarded the ESGR Patriot Award

The Missouri Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) has presented the Department of Defense Patriot Award to Landmark Hospital of Cape Girardeau, in recognition of their extraordinary support of employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.

Accepting the award for Landmark Hospital was Ms. Kim Tippen, Chief Clinical Officer, and Mr. Rodney Brown, Chief Executive Officer. The hospital was nominated for the award by Sergeant Michael Irey, a Licensed Practical Nurse at the hospital, and a Combat Medic with the 325th Combat Support Hospital, United States Army Reserve, in Cape Girardeau. Michael stated in the nomination that his supervisors and all fellow employees are very supportive of the military, and encourage their employees who serve in the military. "They bend over backwards to adjust their staffing to accommodate military duty on short notice, and ensure service members have ample time to focus on their military careers."

The ESGR Patriot Award was created by the US Department of Defense to publicly recognize individuals and businesses who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation's call to serve. Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation's Guard and Reserve units. Employers are nominated by their military employees.
