Cape Girardeau house fire ruled accidental
Thursday, March 31, 2011
The Cape Girardeau Fire Department determined the cause of a house fire on the city's south side Wednesday is accidental. Firefighters responded to the fire around 10:45 a.m. to find light smoke showing from several windows and the roof, according to battalion chief Brad Dillow. The fire was extinguished quickly, he said. No one was home at the time of the fire. Dillow called it a small fire, although he said there is heavy smoke damage and moderate fire damage throughout the main floor of the three-bedroom home. He said the fire most likely started in the middle portion of home. Crews were on scene about two hours.
