" Ironed Jawed Angels" will be viewed & discussed

The League of Women Voters of Southeast Missouri and the Cape River Heritage Museum will screen the movie "Iron-Jawed Angels" about women's fight for the right to vote on Wednesday, April 6, at 7 pm at the museum, 538 Independence Street, in Cape Girardeau. The film, starring Hilary Swank, tells the story of Alice Paul and other women who picketed the White House and went to jail in their struggle for the passage of the Nineteenth Amendment, which finally passed in 1920, allowing women to become full voting citizens of the United States. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served
