Sunday, September 26, 2010
More than 300 participants came out to donate and participate in the Run for Vaughn fundraiser event that took place this month in Dexter, Mo. Event organizers said the event, along with a bake sale, raised more than $8,000, which will be contributed to the medical expenses of Rev. Vaughn White. Wight is the former pastor of Dexter's First Christian Church. He is currently suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), or Lou Gehrig's disease. Wright is now confined primarily to his home. Pictured are Charles and Pam Kruse, and at center Wes Eskew, who were taking a water break following the 5K fun walk/run.
