Casino not what Cape needs

With so much talk about a casino coming to Cape Girardeau, I feel the need to express my feelings of not wanting it.

When I moved here a few years ago, I felt Cape Girardeau was a nice town in which to live, raise children and grow old. But if we get a casino, I will no longer feel that way.

We have enough stealing, shooting, raping, robbery and drugs going on as it is. All you have to do is read the paper and see for yourself. I know lots of people feel the same way I do.

If our city officials would do their homework, they would see what has happened in towns that have casinos.

I am a Christian, and my Bible teaches me that gambling is a sin. I believe in my Bible, not people.

I have deep concerns for the people of Cape Girardeau.
