Robin Kicks Off "Small Businesses for Robin"

Missouri Small Business Owners tell Fellow Missourians Why They Support Robin on New Webpage HERE: www.robincarnahan.com/smallbusiness

Today, Robin Carnahan's campaign launched Small Business Owners for Robin to bring together Missourians who share her commitment to getting our economy back on track and creating jobs in Missouri. The group is co-chaired by small business owners from across the state: Don & Tina Warnol from Pulaski County (Warnol Valley Lakes Fish Farm); Steve Stepp from Greene County (National Audio Company); Sheila Forrest from St. Louis County (Afro World); and Jerry Caldwell from Adair County (The Green Door).

Robin has a record of fighting for Missouri small businesses and has laid out her plan to help small businesses create jobs by cutting taxes on small businesses, ending the bailouts and getting Washington's fiscal house in order.

As Secretary of State, Robin cut red tape for small business owners and saved them nearly $12 million. And as a small business owner herself, Robin understands that small businesses are the engine of our economy, accounting for nearly 60 percent of new jobs. That's why she believes we need to support our small businesses - because more help for small firms and startups means more private sector jobs and security for Missouri families.

"As a small business owner, the last two years have been a struggle. My company literally can't afford for this country to go back to the Republican economic policies that brought American small business to its knees. Tax cuts for Roy Blunt and his corporate cronies don't help my business. We need leaders that put people ahead of corporations and who offer access not just to the moneyed special interests, but to the hard working small business owner. That's why I support Robin Carnahan for United States Senate.

- Steve G. from Jackson County (Printing Services)

"Four years ago, we noticed our business started to decrease. These large corporations who back politicians like Congressman Blunt are squeezing small business owners out. Trickle-down economics do not work--we have to have some changes. Robin will make the right decisions for small business--she's bright and makes thoughtful choices."

- Donald and Tina W. from Pulaksi County (Warnol Valley Lakes Fish Farms)

While Robin owns a small business and has been helping small business owners succeed as Secretary of State, Congressman Roy Blunt has spent the last 14 years in Washington standing up for corporate special interests and leaving small businesses behind. Just this year, amidst these tough economic times, Congressman Blunt has voted against cutting taxes for small businesses four times. He has also voted repeatedly to give tax breaks to corporations that ship jobs overseas, and supported billions in subsidies for oil companies, such as BP, that are making record profits.
