Cape Girardeau County Commission turns over tax sale surplus to treasurer

Cape Girardeau County commissioners voted Thursday to forward the 2010 surplus from the land tax sale to the county treasurer. The surplus was $7,895.09, and Treasurer Roger Hudson said the money will be put into the school fund for three years before being released to the schools. During that time the owners have the right to claim any surplus.
