Downtown Golf Tournament, Sunday, June 28, 2009

The First Fourth Annual Louis J Lorimier Memorial World Famous Downtown Golf Tournament and All You Can Eat Catfish Buffet announces that John Breaker, creator of the BirdieBall, will be attending this year's event.

The Downtown Golf Tournament will take place on Sunday, June 28, 2009 in the streets of downtown Cape Girardeau and on the lawn of the River Campus. Participants will play a 9 hole course using the BirdieBall. A 5-iron is the suggested club to use for play.

No experience necessary to play! The course of play is designed for any experience level and is a great family activity.

Registration of $25.00 includes a commemorative BirdieBall, event t-shirt, and catfish buffet. Proceeds to benefit the Red House Interpretive Center Trust Fund. The Red House Interpretive Center commemorates the life of community founder Louis Lorimier, as well as the visit of Meriwether Lewis and William Clark in November, 1803. The Interpretive Center houses an early 1800's exhibit that reflects the lives of the early settlers of the old Cape Girardeau district.

Mr. Breaker will be available before the event to demonstrate the BirdieBall (www.birdieball.com).

Pre-event registration forms can be found in the Southeast Missourian Newspaper, and at the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau. Registration begins at 12:30pm, Common Pleas Courthouse, Gazebo Park. Tee time is 1:30pm.
