Testing of Cape Girardeau fire hydrants may discolor water
Tuesday, June 2, 2009
The Cape Girardeau Fire Department is testing fire hydrants throughout the city today through June 13, according to a news release from the City of Cape Girardeau. During the testing, city water customers may notice a slight discoloration in their water. The discoloration is normal during hydrant testing, and the fire department advises water users to run a stream of water for about one minute if water is discolored. Water users also may notice a slight decrease in pressure for a few minutes while testing takes place.
