Wonderful reunion

To the editor:

From July 11 to 13 the classes of Central High School from 1950 to 1959 held their Still Rockin' and Rollin' Reunion. The event is held every five years, and this year was the biggest turnout ever. There were 650 classmates and spouses who attended. They came from all over, and everyone had a great time.

This reunion would not be possible if it were not for a lot of hard-working people. I would like to thank all of the committee chairmen and the people who worked with them for the past year and a half.

Thanks also to the Pilot House, Kohfield's, Schnucks, Huck's and Pure Ice Co. for the great food and drinks. Special thanks to Charles Sutton for donating several cases of wine.

Thanks to Tom Neumeyer, Jeanne Eddleman and Dr. Frank Nickell for sharing their pictures and history of Cape Girardeau.

Thanks to Floyd Penny for his buggy rides, to Rocky Wilferth and Don Gammon for their beautiful old cars and for the Kenny Windisch sound system (yes, we can still jitterbug).

Thank you to the Southeast Missourian for the reunion coverage.

A special thanks to Dr. Jim Welker, Cape Girardeau School District superintendent, for coming out to welcome us all back for the reunion.

I hope I have covered just about everything. If I missed someone, I'm sorry. Again, I want to say thank you so much.

ELIZABETH (ROSE) GRIMES, Co-chairman, 1950s Reunion, Central High School, Cape Girardeau
