Some cases are more dangerous

To the editor:I have a question. In the recent case where the man shot his family and himself, the judge who granted the protection order that was filed on the husband earlier that day stated that there are as many as "15 to 20 protection orders filed in a day." This seems to downplay the importance of Katherine Moshiri's protection order. Understandably, from the judge's perspective, a lot of frivolous protection orders get filed. But my question is, how many protection orders are filed where the woman is stating that her husband is threatening to leave the country with the kids and is stocking up on illegal firearms? Shouldn't authorities have been notified the minute that Mrs. Moshiri presented her statement to the court?
