Given a chance, voters back raises

To the editor:

We are seldom blessed with an opportunity to vote ourselves a pay raise. Nov. 7 provided such an irresistible offer by Democrats that many dyed-in-the-wool Republicans couldn't refuse.

I'm a retired life-long Republican who should have voted Democratic in this election if I had been employed to work by the hour. Why? We know who has enjoyed complete control recently, and when the minimum wage was addressed, they seemed to forget that many Republicans work by the hour. The administration opposed passage of the proposed increase, whereas Democrats didn't mince words. They promised to give me a raise.

Enough said.
