The Southeast Missouri State women's basketball program landed another player for the 2008-09 season.

Daumonique Lenhardt, a 5-foot-9 junior college guard, is the Redhawks' sixth signee for next year.

Lenhardt played the past two seasons at Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis, Tenn. She will have two years of eligibility at Southeast.

Lenhardt averaged 9.7 points per game while shooting 46 percent from the field and over 50 percent from 3-point range as a sophomore for a SWCC team that went 31-1 and finished ranked fourth nationally. The Saluqis were upset in the finals of their region tournament.

Lenhardt, a native of Arlington, Tenn., was SWCC's third-leading scorer and ranked second on the squad with 57 steals. She earned first-team all-Western Division honors.

Southeast coach John Ishee compared Lenhardt to Ashley Lovelady, a senior guard on this past season's Redhawks team.

"She's a good player, a lot like Ashley in that she's real athletic and can really defend," Ishee said. "She played on a great junior college team."

Southeast seniors Megan McDonald and Michelle Summers were named to the all-Ohio Valley Conference first team Wednesday.

McDonald, a Central graduate, played in every game since her freshman year. She led the Redhawks with a .406 average, second in the OVC, and was only the fourth player in program history to bat over .400 in a season.

She led the conference with 15 doubles, recorded 67 hits and knocked in 41 runs. She blasted nine home runs and finished with a .661 slugging percentage.

McDonald was the OVC freshman of the year in 2005 and earned a spot on the all-OVC second team last season.
