Cape Central's Leland Woelk is an all-stater.

Today will determine exactly how high Woelk will finish as the Missouri Class 4A Wrestling Championships conclude.

Woelk (145 pounds) is the only Cape Central wrestler remaining in state competition after O.J. Turner and Nick Harter were eliminated Friday.

Woelk lost in the semifinal round 18-8 to David Haggerty of Blue Springs, but by making it to the semifinal round, Woelk can finish as high as third and no lower than sixth.

Harter was eliminated in the second round of wrestlebacks, 13-6, by Michael Lewis of Rock Bridge.

Turner, who won his first-round match on Thursday, was eliminated 7-2 by Tommy Eblen of Park Hill South. Turner was pinned earlier by Keith Kuenzel of Oak Park.

"It was a match that could've gone either way," Central coach Josh Crowell said. "Both went to throw each other and O.J. was leaning about a half-inch the wrong way and he got caught. It could've happened just as easy to the other guy."

Due to inaccurate information provided by the Missouri State High School Association, no Jackson results were available at press time.
