Charlotte West and Marie Ballard cruised to a two-stroke victory Tuesday in the 48-team J.C. Chip A Ways member-guest tournament.
West and Ballard teamed up for a 69 in the two-women scramble at the Cape Jaycee Municipal Golf Course to top the championship flight.
The teams of Margaret Sander and Dixie Jones, Helen Ezell and Janice Wheeler, and defending champions Sissy Burnett and Sherrie Simmons all tied for second with scores of 71.
The "A" flight featured a six-team tie for top honors, the "B" flight had a three-team tie, the "C" flight had a two-team tie and the "D" flight had a five-team tie.
Shooting 75s to top the "A" group were the teams of Deanna Peterman and Sharon Dow, Linda Williams and Lilian Angle, Kathy Kramer and Nancy Nicholas, Carolyn Torbet and Cindy Schmoll, Lisa Beussink and Cheryl Ziegler, and Marlena Jones and Leslie Steele.
The teams of Jan Esicar and Susan Vickery, Patti Garrison and Mona Williams, and Luanne Kiefer and Judi Brey shot 78s to top the "B" flight.
The "C" flight was won by two teams with 83s -- Kim Kelley and Tammi Pettet and the team of Mary Schicker and Sharon Bush. The team of Camie Wulfers and Connie Nebel shot 84 to place third.
Leading the "D" flight with 87s were Pat Robert and Carole Calvin, Bonnie Miller and Carol Crawford, Patti Corzine and Sandy Schluster, Bev Wink and Bea Mashik, and Jan Weinhold and Penny Bowers.
Closest to the pin winners were Linda Byrd on No. 3, Joyce Spoo on No. 6 and Angle on No. 12. Burnett was the closest to the pin in regulation on No. 15, while Luanne Kiefner was closest to the line on No. 17.
Linda Williams had the longest putts on No. 1, while Betty Roth had the longest putt on No. 14.
Spoo had the longest drive for golfers 60 and over, while Terrie Mouser had the longest drive for 60 and under.
