The defending Class 5 state champion boys basketball team rode a hot first quarter to victory over Jackson on Friday.

Webster Groves enjoyed a nine-point advantage after the first quarter and emerged with the 58-46 road win.

Henrie Williams led the Indians with 16 points and Marcus Harris added 10.

Webster Groves ended Jackson's season last year in the sectional round.

The Indians dropped to 9-8 with the loss.
