The Southeast Missouri State volleyball team has received an academic award for the third straight season and the seventh time in nine years. The Southeast Missouri State volleyball team has received an academic award for the third straight season and the seventh time in nine years.

Southeast recently won the team academic award given by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

A squad must have a minimum 3.30 grade point average on a 4.0 scale during the full academic year to receive the honor. The Redhawks had a 3.403 GPA this past academic year, which included a 3.7 GPA during the spring semester.

Molly Davis and Paige Dossey led the Redhawks with 4.0 GPAs.

Other Ohio Valley Conference volleyball programs recognized were Jacksonville State, Morehead State and future OVC member Southern Illinois-Edwardsville.

Three Southeast women's track and field athletes have been named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division I All-Academic team.

Juli Koenegstein, Ashley Brewer and Jackson High School graduate Rachel Kahle were recognized. All advanced to the NCAA West Regional this past season.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, athletes must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have qualified either for NCAA regional or national meets.

A record total of 551 athletes representing 150 schools received All-Academic honors this year.

Southeast tied Eastern Illinois with three honorees among OVC programs. Austin Peay rounded out the league's recipients with one member.
