The Southeast Missouri State volleyball team began its last homestand of the season Friday night with a four-game loss.
Tennessee State beat the Redhawks 33-31, 30-27, 29-31, 30-24. The Tigers improved to 16-11 overall and 8-3 in Ohio Valley Conference play.
Southeast fell to 11-15 and 5-6. The Redhawks are tied for seventh place in the 11-team league.
Brenna Schlader led the Redhawks with 20 kills. Jessica Koeper had a double-double with 16 kills and 15 digs. Hannah Weis and Brittany Hastings both added 13 kills.
Freshman setter Sarah Barth had a double-double with 57 assists and 11 digs. Molly Davis led in digs with 16 and Taylor Harbster added 12.
Erika Godbolt paced the Tigers with 18 kills. Collese Dornan added 16.
Southeast plays its final home match 2 p.m. today against Austin Peay, which is 10th in the OVC.
Soccer match canceled
Southeast final regular-season women's soccer match, scheduled for Friday night against Central Arkansas at Houck Stadium, was canceled due to the heavy rain that has pelted the area the past two days.
The Redhawks conclude the regular season with a 7-7-2 record, and they finished fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference at 4-3-2.
Southeast will host Austin Peay at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the first round of the six-team OVC tournament. The Redhawks are seeded fourth and the Governors are seeded fifth.
