PORTAGEVILLE — The Kennett High School volleyball team will officially begin this season with a jamboree on Tuesday, Aug. 22.
The event begins at 5 p.m., with the following schools also joining in: New Madrid County Central and East Prairie.
Varsity matches will take place in the Portageville high school gymnasium. Junior varsity matches will be conducted in the middle school gym.
Here’s the schedule of matches for the varsity teams:
5 p.m., East Prairie vs. Portageville
5:30 p.m., New Madrid County vs. Kennett
6 p.m., East Prairie vs. New Madrid
6:30 p.m., Kennett vs. Portageville
7 p.m., East Prairie vs. Kennett
7:30 p.m., New Madrid vs. Portageville
Kennett’s junior varsity will play New Madrid County Central at 5 p.m., Portageville at 6 and East Prairie at 7:30 p.m.
Teams will be allowed a five-minute warm-up period, with three minutes of hitting and two serving.
Missouri State High School Activities Association-sanctioned officials will be used.
For a four-team jamboree, teams will play three sets for 15 points (varsity) and two sets (JV).
Per Portageville athletic director Tyler Trover, admission will be charged ($3 for adults and $2 for students) and concessions will be provided.
