USA VOLLEYBALL TO PLAY IN CAPE

The USA Women's National Volleyball team will play the Russian National team in a best-of-five match at the Show Me Center April 14.

The contest will mark the first time an international match has been played in this area.

Both team are using the tour, which also includes stops in Memphis and the Illinois cities of Dekalb, Quincy and Normal, to prepare for the World Championship next November in Japan. Both the USA men's and women's team qualified for the World Championships by finishing first in the recent NORCECA zone qualification tournament in San Antonio.

"It's not often you have a chance to acquire a national caliber sport in Cape Giradeau, Missouri," said Show Me Center director David Ross.

Tickets go on sale Monday at the Show Me Center box office and the Southeast Missouri State University Athletic office. Court side tickets are $15 and general admission is $8. For more information, call 651-5000.
