His family declined comment about Hixon's condition on Tuesday.

Hixon was last listed in serious condition and still unconscious in a Tampa hospital. His father last week returned to his job with the Redskins after taking nearly three weeks leave to attend to his son.

Stan Hixon told the Associated Press in a previous interview that no one knows if his son will make a full recovery, but he's showing a lot of encouraging progress.
