The controversy of using three referees at the Southeast Missourian Christmas Tournament should be put to rest for two days at least.

Three officials were on the floor for Thursday's games and will be present again for the final day of the tournament. The consolation final begins at 3 p.m. today with the championship game set for 7:30.

Tournament director Tom Allen said the decision was made at the annual administrators meeting for the tournament.

"That was the decision of the 16 teams," Allen said. "A majority of the voters present voted that way."
