JACKSON -- Top-seeded SEMO Bank opened its drive for the District 14 Junior Legion Tournament title Friday with an 8-2 victory over fourth-seeded Sikeston.

Trailing 2-1 after four innings, SEMO Bank struck for four runs in the fifth and three more in the seventh to advance into today's winner's bracket final.

Ty Fidler had a big two-out, two-run single in the fourth inning, while Tim Huckstep provided insurance with a two-run single in the seventh.

SEMO Bank (27-19) had five hits overall.

Mark Ostendorf went the distance for Cape on the mound, allowing four hits, striking out five and walking two.

Rain pushed back the schedule of Friday's games. No further results were available at press time.
