Tigers blow out unbeaten Arkansas

~ Missouri improved to 8-0 with its first victory against the Razorbacks since 1992.

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Stefhon Hannah scored a season-high 21 points, had six assists and six steals Thursday as Missouri beat Arkansas 86-64, its first victory over the Razorbacks since 1992.

Missouri forced 24 Arkansas turnovers and beat what was considered its toughest opponent so far this season. Arkansas (5-1) reached the NCAA Tournament last season and received 33 votes in this weeks Top 25.

But Missouri (8-0) was the better team in almost every facet Thursday night.

The Razorbacks shot just 41.8 percent and their 24 turnovers were a season-high. Of those turnovers, 18 came in the first half, which ended with Missouri leading 44-28.

The Tigers' 18-5 scoring run midway through the first half began with Arkansas leading by three points and ended less than three minutes later with Missouri up by 10.

The run was sparked by freshman Keon Lawrence, who came off the bench less than 5 minutes into the game and scored 10 points in the half. His 3-pointer from the right wing came at the beginning of Missouri's scoring run and gave the Tigers the lead for good.

Lawrence finished with 14 points on 6-for-10 shooting.

Hannah, who entered the game leading the country with 28 steals, had 10 points, six assists and five steals at halftime. In Monday's 89-69 win over Coppin State, he tied a Missouri record with 13 assists.

Patrick Beverly and Charles Thomas led Arkansas with 15 points apiece.

The Razorbacks cut the Missouri lead from 17 points to nine with just under 13 minutes remaining, but Missouri's 3-point shooting prevented them from getting any closer.

Missouri shot 57 percent from 3-point range led by Matt Lawrence, who scored 19 points on 5-for-6 3-point shooting.

Marshall Brown added 11 points for the Tigers.

The all-time series between the schools is now tied at 18-18. Before Thursday, Missouri had lost eight straight to the Razorbacks.
