Chad Campbell beat Tiger Woods 1-up on Friday in the third round of the Match Play Championship, winning when the No. 1 player in the world missed a 12-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole.

Campbell will face U.S. Ryder Cup captain Tom Lehman in the quarterfinals. The 46-year-old Lehman beat 2005 winner David Toms 4 and 3.

In the other upper-bracket matches at La Costa in Carlsbad, Calif., David Howell beat Phil Mickelson 3 and 1, and Geoff Ogilvy edged Mike Weir in 21 holes.

In the lower bracket, Padraig Harrington beat Vijay Singh in 19 holes to set up a quarterfinal match against Davis Love III, a 3-and-2 winner over Chris DiMarco.

In the other quarterfinal, Retief Goosen -- the highest remaining seed at No. 3 -- will face Zach Johnson. Goosen beat Luke Donald 1-up, and Johnson defeated Shingo Katayama 4 and 3.

PGA Tour

Duffy Waldorf shot his second straight 6-under 66 to take a one-stroke lead over Mark Wilson in the Chrysler Classic of Tucson.

Wilson followed his opening 64 with a 69 for an 11-under 133 total at Tucson National. Jason Gore (66), Bob Tway (66), Scott Gutschewski (67), Bubba Watson (67) and Jerry Kelly (68) were two strokes back at 10 under.

Champions Tour

Loren Roberts opened his bid for a record fourth straight Champions Tour victory with a 2-under 69 in the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am, leaving him four strokes behind leaders Mark McNulty and Bruce Lietzke in Lutz, Fla.

LPGA Tour

South Korean rookie Seon Hwa Lee shot a 6-under 66 to take a two-stroke lead over Natalie Gulbis after the second round of the Fields Open in Kapolei, Hawaii.
