Last week: Tiger Woods won the U.S. Open at Bethpage Black to become the first player since Jack Nicklaus in 1972 to capture the first two major championships of the year. Woods was the only player to break par, finishing at 3-under 277 for his eighth major championship. Mickelson was second, three strokes back.

Notes: Woods is skipping the tournament. ... Mickelson tops the field along with Sergio Garcia, Ernie Els, Vijay Singh, Greg Norman, David Duval, Davis Love III and Chris DiMarco. ... Notes: Fleisher underwent testing Monday after a physical exam last week found signs that can be associated with prostate cancer. He will attempt to defend his U.S. Senior Open title next week at Caves Valley in Owings Mills. ... John Harris, the 1993 U.S. Amateur champion, is making his senior debut.

PGA EUROPEAN TOUR

The Great North Open
