Notables: Can score quick and often from anywhere on the floor. His lean, lanky frame is perfect fit for Cubs' up-tempo style. Shored up his weakest area by becoming a better defender. On a couple of occasions in Cubs' drive to state title he opened game with a steal and easy basket on the break, helping set an early tone. Was first-team All-Southeast Missourian as a sophomore as well as second team all-state. Averaged 18.4 ppg in playoffs.

Notables: Has feathery shooting touch, is deft passer and has great instincts for the game. This cool floor general possesses poise well beyond his years, which he demonstrated to Hearnes Center crowd at 1A final four. Has calming influence and ability to take over a game. Transferred from Scott County Central after his freshman year and proved instrumental in Cubs winning state title. Stepped up his game in the postseason with 20.6 ppg in Bell City's five playoff games.

Notables: Could do it all while directing Indian offense. Key to stopping St. Vincent was slowing down this well-rounded player. Was capable of dishing out 7-8 assists and scoring 20 points -- and sometimes did. Able to get to the line, leading Jefferson County Conference with 170 free-throw attempts. Was first-team All-Southeast Missourian and Jefferson County small conference player of the year as a junior.

Notables: Part of a talented junior class at Oran, which finished 21-7. A top-notch defensive player, he drew the toughest defensive assignment. A physical, blue-collar type player who rebounds, scores and handles the ball. A two-year starter for the Eagles. Was the Scott-Mississippi Conference player of the year. Scored season-high 29 points against Scott County Central, Woodland.

Notables: A physical inside player who can hit a turn-around jumper. Her rare combination of power and grace were evident at last year's Class 2A track and field championships where she placed second in both discus and 100 hurdles. A hard worker that only promises to get better -- she improved her free-throw shooting from 50 percent as a freshman to 70 percent as a sophomore. Scored 36 points against Charleston and holds school's single-game rebounding record with 26. Scored 18 first-half against points against Notre Dame in district semifinal before breaking nose in third quarter. First-team all-Southeast Missourian as a freshman.
Deana McCormick

Notables: Combination of great interior moves and good size made her a force to be reckoned with every night. Scored game-winning basket with two seconds left in 41-39 semifinal victory over defending 2A state champion Stockton, setting stage for Notre Dame girls' first state title. Averaged 19.5 points and 12 rebounds in Bulldogs' two final four games. Was four-year starter for Notre Dame and first-team all-Southeast Missourian and second-team all-state as a junior. Notre Dame's all-time leading scorer (1,458) and rebounder (874).

Notables: Tied own school record of 88 3-pointers in a season, set last year. Torched one-time nemesis John Burroughs in 1A quarterfinals with 23 points on 5 of 6 3-point shooting. A three-year starter who was first-team all-Southeast Missourian and first-team all-state as a junior. Notre Dame's all-time leader in 3-pointers made with 237. Will play college basketball at Central Missouri State University.

Notables: Claustrophobia doesn't seem to be a problem after working entire season in crowded quarters -- she was double and triple-teamed most of year. A head taller than most players on the floor, she was a dominating force inside both offensively and defensively. Can also hit short to mid-range jumpers on a consistent basis. Gave Delta fits in district championship game, scoring 17 points in the first half on her way to a game-high 25. Scott-Mississippi Conference player of the year. Will attend Division III Fontbonne College next year.
