The Bulldog JV also lost 7-0. Notre Dame host Sikeston Thursday.

Volleyball

New Madrid County Central 15-15, Cape Central 5-7

A young Cape Central team fell to 0-7-2 Tuesday.

Central, already struggling, was hit hard this week when three varsity players quit and another suffered an injury.

Central is off until Monday, when it will travel to defending Class 1A state champion Bell City.

Jackson 13-15-15, Sikeston 15-7-5

JACKSON -- Jackson (12-3-4) won at home despite a sub-par performance Tuesday.

The Lady Indians led 12-4 in the first game but eventually dropped it.

Andrea Koeper led Jackson with seven kills and four service aces. Chrissy Glastetter totaled six kills and Valerie Jansen had four kills and three aces.

Jackson's JV won 15-8, 15-10 and Sikeston's freshman won 15-11, 15-12.

Jackson will host Meadow Heights on Thursday.

Perryville 13-15-15, Herculaneum 15-5-13

PERRYVILLE -- Perryville won its first Jefferson County Conference match at home Tuesday to improve to 7-7-3 overall and 1-2 in the league.

Renee Kaempfe had seven kills and five blocks, Shannon Dreyer 10 assists, Amy Verseman nine assists and eight kills and Laura Ernst seven kills.

Perryville's JV won 15-12, 15-12.

Perryville will travel to Crystal City Thursday.

St. Vincent 14-15-15

Hillsboro 16-12-10

HILLSBORO -- St. Vincent evened its record and remained undefeated in the Jefferson County Conference with its first win ever against Hillsboro.

Debbie Welker led the Squaws with 19 points and 25 assists. Fara Galatti (eight kills), Jessica Lakenan (seven kills) and Rachel Schurbusch (six kills) were the beneficiaries of Welker's assists. Schnurbusch also had 16 digs and Steph Prost added 14 digs.

"After dropping the first match, the girls did a good job of coming back," said St. Vincent coach Staci Bauwens. "That was a positive thing to see."

St. Vincent is now 6-6-2 overall and 2-0 in the JeffCo Conference. Hillsboro (6-7) lost its fifth match in a row. St. Vincent plays at Grandview Thursday.

Oran 15-15, Scott City 9-6

ORAN -- Oran won its first match of the season at home Tuesday.

Oran improved to 1-9, dropping Scott City to 0-8-2.

Jessica Dees had three kills and three blocks for Scott City.

Oran's JV won 15-9, 15-6.

Oran will travel to Poplar Bluff Friday; Scott City will host Oak Ridge Thursday.

Advance 15-15

Woodland 2-9

MARBLE HILL -- Woodland let early leads slip away Tuesday in a loss to Advance. The Lady Cardinals record fell to 3-8-2.

The JV lost 13-15, 15-8, 15-8. Woodland host Chaffee Thursday night.

Cape Central 27

Farmington 22

FARMINGTON -- Jamel Austin his third touchdown Tuesday on a 12-yard run with 32-seconds left to keep the Cape Central freshmen Tigers undefeated at 4-0.

Austin led the Tigers offense with 104 yards on 12 carries. Otis Turner added 89 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. Cape led 21-6 at halftime before Farmington battled back to take a 22-21 lead with 4:30 left in the game. Central scored four minutes later for the win.
