Sunday's sports letters

Can someone out there tell me why the SEMO basketball program has dropped out of sight? We were told that after they went to the NCAA big dance we would see the quality of recruits get better. Duh. In most programs, reloading would drop to a .500 win-loss record. Where did we screw up? I do not believe SIU has fallen to a 3-18 record that I can remember. Somebody needs to get a little fire in their belly and start recruiting and winning. Trying and playing hard doesn't feed the bulldog. It takes some W's.DAVID E. YOUNG
