Nuggets point guard Tim Hardaway will miss the rest of the season after breaking his left foot against the Supersonics.

Hardaway had seven points in the first 3 minutes, but hopped off the court and straight to the locker room after Randy Livingston stepped on his foot with 3:24 left in the first quarter.

Colleges

Iowa State senior Cael Sanderson completed his record-setting college career Saturday, winning his 159th match without a loss and claiming his fourth straight NCAA title.

The 197-pound Sanderson caught Jon Trenge by the ankle, turned it into a double-leg takedown and put the Lehigh sophomore straight to his back for a near fall, going on to score a 12-4 major decision.

Oklahoma State's Pat Smith, who had five losses in his career, is the only other four-time NCAA champion. Sanderson finishes as the only college wrestler to finish his four years of competition without a loss.

John Pelphrey was hired as men's basketball coach at South Alabama in Mobile. Pelphrey spent six years at Florida as top assistant to coach Billy Donovan.
