DEXTER, Mo. -- The Dexter volleyball team secured its 15th straight-game victory of the season Monday night with a 25-15, 25-19 home win against the Woodland Cardinals.

Dexter never trailed either set and dominated the Cardinals early and late.

The Bearcats tallied eight of the first nine points in the first game. Woodland narrowed the deficit to 13-10, but Dexter tallied the next seven points on its way to the win.

The second game was tied at 5-5 before Dexter pulled away for a 15-9 lead. Woodland narrowed the deficit to 17-16, but Dexter called timeout and responded with eight of the final 10 points of the game.

"Woodland is a good team," Dexter coach Carmen Morgan said. "I felt like we played out of rhythm tonight and had a lack of communication on the floor. We are always happy with a win, but we've got to play our game better."

The Bearcats tallied 23 of its 50 points on kills.

Jessica Lindsey led Dexter with 11 kills. Delaney Pullen added five and Shyann Jines contributed four.

"Lindsey hit well and Shyann got good blocks at the net," Morgan said.

Jines had a team-high eight assists for Dexter, while Ashley Brown led the defense with six digs.

"We made some good defensive plays and had some good digs," Morgan said.

Lindsey had three blocks while Jines had two.

Dexter (15-3) improved to 3-0 in SCAA regular season play with the victory.

Dexter also won the JV contest 25-23, 25-16.

Woodland will host Fredericktown in a nonconference match today.
