The Central boys swimming team had a diver make the state cut Thursday in SEMO Conference competition at Central Municipal Pool. Tanner Rust posted an 11-dive score of 385.41 to finish second in the meet. His six-dive score of 233.95 surpassed the state-qualifying mark of 215...

The Central boys swimming team had a diver make the state cut Thursday in SEMO Conference competition at Central Municipal Pool.

Tanner Rust posted an 11-dive score of 385.41 to finish second in the meet. His six-dive score of 233.95 surpassed the state-qualifying mark of 215.

Thursday's conference meet swimming events were postponed due to the weather. The events are scheduled for 4 p.m. Monday.

The diving went on, however, and Notre Dame's John Stoverink won the competition with a score of 396.3. Stoverink had already qualified for state in diving.

The Rams (9-8) used a 20-8 third-quarter advantage to grab the lead. Amanda Raines and Christy Laxton scored 17 apiece for Scott City.
