Southeast Missourian
The Southeast Storm and the Southeast Tornadoes both qualified for the state tournament for the Special Olympics Missouri District Softball Tournament on Saturday at Shawnee Park in Cape Girardeau.
Both teams finished in the top three of the Unified Sports Division I, in which teams were comprised of five Special Olympics athletes and five partners.
The Storm finished second, losing to the BHC Bombers of St. Louis 13-4 in the final after beating the BHC Flyers 15-5.
The Tornadoes finished third, bouncing back from a 30-5 loss to the Bombers to beat the Flyers 19-9.
The state event is set for Aug. 5 through 7 in Jefferson City, Mo.

Coach Pitch Division I
Scores -- West County Wild Cats 15, Fort Zumwalt Cougars 5; Wild Cats 13, Cougars 5.
Coach Pitch Division II-III
Scores -- West County Wild Dogs 22, Dream Team 1; West County Wild Dogs 14, Dream Team 4.
