St. Vincent is headed to Warrensburg.

The Indians defeated Crystal City 25-18, 25-22 to capture their state quarterfinal volleyball match Saturday.

"We played a heck of a defense," St. Vincent coach Mindy House said. "We had 16 blocks."

St. Vincent (29-5-2) beat Scott City 25-18, 25-23 in the sectional round to reach the quarterfinals.

Sarah DeWilde led the Indians with eight kills and 12 blocks in their win against Scott City. Lacey Siegmund added 13 assists and Sara Moll had nine digs.

In St. Vincent's victory against Crystal City, DeWilde had 16 blocks and six kills. Brooke Hayden also chipped in six kills. Siegmund and Kelsey Cissell each had 14 assists. Brooke Brown recorded 11 digs while Moll had 10.

The Indians open round-robin play at the state tournament Friday.

Mark Himmelberg and Brock Dirnberger scored for the Bulldogs, who began defense of their state title. Ryan Willen and Nick Wren provided the assists.

Ryan Bass made one save for the shutout.

BOYS SWIMMINGCentral finishes fifth

Central placed fifth at the 17-team Springfield Invitational.

The Tigers had 140 points. Kansas City Rockhurst won the meet with 543 points.

100 breaststroke -- 4. Peyton Waggener, 1:05.10.
