PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Known for its power running attack, the St. Vincent football team put away Chaffee on Friday night with a flawlessly executed 2-minute drill before halftime.

The Indians scored a touchdown with 42.9 seconds left in the first half and added another TD on the opening drive of the second half to pull away for a 35-3 victory.

St. Vincent (4-4) won its second straight game and started play in Class 1 District 2 on the right note.

Chaffee (2-6) was even with St. Vincent at 3-3 through the first 14 minutes. Andrew Hendrix's 21-yard field goal for Chaffee answered a 41-yard kick by Lucas Robinson, who made his third field goal of more than 40 yards this year.

St. Vincent went ahead 10-3 with 6:10 to go in the half on a 15-yard pass from Tim Guilliams to Justin L'Hote that capped a 23-yard drive.

After an exchange of punts, St. Vincent had the ball on its own 45 with 1:37 before intermission. Guilliams completed four of five passes, covering 48 yards and setting up Lucas Robinson's 5-yard touchdown run that made the score 16-3.

"We work on that every Thursday," St. Vincent coach Keith Winkler said of the 55-second drive. "To be honest, because of the rain, and we didn't want anyone to get sick, we didn't work on it this week."

St. Vincent didn't throw a pass in the second half, rushing for three touchdowns in the third period before Chaffee even picked up a first down. Robinson had a 1-yard run capping a 56-yard drive, while Greg Finger scored on a 5-yard run and added a 46-yard TD run.

"From the get-go, we were flat tonight," Chaffee coach Charlie Vickery said. "That was the worst game we played all year, and I give credit to St. Vincent. They had a lot to do with how we played."

Finger finished with 117 yards on 10 carries -- including 118 yards on eight carries in the second half. Robinson finished with 70 yards on 16 carries.
