SPORTS DIGEST: ST. VINCENT'S KUTZ IS MVP OF ALL-STAR GAME

Derek Kutz, a 2001 graduate of St. Vincent High School in Perryville, Mo., was named the most valuable player of the Class 1A game at Saturday's Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Series in Warrensburg, Mo.

Kutz was the winning pitcher and also went 3-for-5 with an RBI as the East team routed the West 15-3.

Kutz was one of several area players who participated in the 14th annual All-Star Series that featured 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A games.
