Southeast Missouri State University student-athletes were honored Wednesday by the Ohio Valley Conference for achieving high marks in the classroom.
Thirteen Southeast student-athletes won the OVC Medal of Honor a total of 17 times while 71 student-athletes were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll a total of 81 times.
Southeast led all OVC schools with 13 Medal of Honor winners, the second straight season Southeast has topped the category.
In order to be a Medal of Honor winner, a student-athlete must achieve the highest grade-point average in a conference-sponsored sport. There were 62 total student-athletes from OVC schools who received this honor. All of Southeast's honorees had a perfect 4.0 GPA.
To be named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 GPA.
