Baseball

• Detroit Tigers reliever Troy Percival likely will miss the rest of the season because of a a partial muscle tear in his right forearm.

Percival, signed by the Tigers during the offseason to be their closer, went on the disabled list for the second time this season on July 15, a move retroactive to July 10. He was examined Monday by Dr. Lewis Yocum, who conducted an MRI exam and said Percival must rest for two months. It is not known if he will need surgery.

* The slumping Red Sox began to overhaul their roster on Tuesday night, acquiring infielder Tony Graffanino from the Kansas City Royals and outfielder Adam Hyzdu from the San Diego Padres.

Boston also designated left-handed reliever Alan Embree for assignment.

The Red Sox, who lost six of seven heading into Tuesday night's game against Tampa Bay, sent Single-A left-hander Juan Cedeno and Triple-A outfielder Chip Ambres to Kansas City.

Basketball

* Free agent forward Donyell Marshall agreed to terms Tuesday on a four-year contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, giving the rebuilt club another player to complement LeBron James.

Coming off the bench last season, the 32-year-old Marshall averaged 11.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and shot a career-best 42 percent on 3-pointers for the Toronto Raptors.

Tennis

Former French Open champion Anastasia Myskina can't stop a photographer from distributing topless pictures taken of her during a 2002 magazine photo session, a federal judge ruled Tuesday.

Myskina was 20 years old when the photographs were taken by Mark Seliger, according to a written decision by U.S. District Judge Michael Mukasey in Manhattan.

Mukasey wrote that the Russian star's rights were not violated when topless photographs were published with an article weeks after she won the French Open in 2004, despite her insistence that she did not understand a photo release form with her signature on it and was not fluent in English at the time.

The lawsuit sought $8 million in damages from Seliger, GQ and its corporate parent.
