Wichita State's Mike Pelfrey struck out 14 Missouri batters as the Shockers claimed a 3-0 victory Friday over the Tigers in the first game of the NCAA Fayetteville Regional. In the second game of the day, Arkansas' Haas Pratt went 4-for-4 at the plate, including his seventh home run of the year, to lead the Razorbacks over Le Moyne 4-1. Wichita State (47-14) advances to a game this afternoon against Arkansas (40-21). Missouri (37-22-1) will play this morning Le Moyne (36-20).

Jeremy Mayfield took the pole for Sunday's MBNA 400 with a record-setting qualifying run at Dover International Speedway. Mayfield's Dodge went 161.522 mph. Ryan Newman got around in 160.643 in his Dodge to take the outside of the front row.
