Long, Hoffman team up for win

Vicki Long and Janice Hoffman captured the championship flight in the Ladies Guest Day tournament last week at Kimbeland Country Club. Long and Hoffman scored a 67, beating Barb Dalton and Suzie Ruppert by two strokes. The team of Vicki Miller and Sarah Thompson scored a 70.

Other winners in the tournament: Julie Toft and Kathy Morris tied Marlena Jones and Leslie Steele with 78s to top the A flight; Maggie Niswonger and Bonnie Kinder won the B flight with an 82; and Linda Hoffman and Connie Hoffman tied Kathy Kraemer and Martha Kay Eaker atop the C flight with 88s.

Williams shoots ace at Kimbeland C.C.

Lisa Williams of Jackson carded her first career hole in one recently at Kimbeland Country Club.

Williams aced No. 12, where she used an 8-iron from 77 yards. Witnesses were her husband, Dale, and her parents, Jim and Judy Wunderlich.

Keefe leads J.C. Chip-A-Ways

Jan Keefe was the medalist this week for the Cape J.C. Chip-A-Ways. Liz Grimes won the B flight and Evelyn Riley had the lowest putts.

The longest drive on hole No. 16 was won by Waunita Van Dyke.

McKinney medalist for Cape Country Club

Vickie McKinney was the medalist Thursday in the ladies day play at Cape Girardeau Country Club.

Mary Ellen Bean was the 18-hole winner for the play of the day, "most 4s and 5s," while Judy Holcomb was the nine-hole winner.

In Wednesday's ladies twilight scramble, the team of Dana Underwood, Mary Johnson and Robin Young captured top honors.
