Ward wins battle of Chevy S-10s; Bulls will play Riverdogs on May 30

Peterman aces No. 8 at Jaycee course

Sam Peterman recorded a hole in one Friday on the eighth hole at Cape Jaycee Municipal Golf Course.

Peterman used a 6-iron to ace the 150-yard, par-3 hole.

Witnesses were Dennis Keith and Larry Angle.

Ward wins battle of Chevy S-10s

Gary Ward of Patton, Mo., won the Pro Class final at the Sikeston Drag Strip on Saturday night.

Ward and Robbie Ruser of Puxico, Mo., both ran Chevy S-10s in the event. Ruser went red first trying to anticipate the start tree.

Ward ran an elapsed time of 6.60 seconds on a dial-in of 6.57. He averaged 105.90 mph.

Jack Maupin of Cape Girardeau was second in the Super Pro Class behind Dan Smith of Affton, Mo.

Maupin was too fast for his dial-in, finishing 5.954 seconds on a dial-in of 5.96. He averaged 115.97 mph.

Bulls will play Riverdogs on May 30

The Cape Girardeau Riverdogs summer amateur baseball team will help the Sikeston Bulls open their season with a May 30 exhibition game in Sikeston. The game wil be played at 7:05 p.m. at VFW Memorial Stadium.

The Bulls are a team of college players that play in the KIT League.
