Spinks, a 14-year-old freshman on Scott City High School, won on both the local, district and regional levels to advance. She connected on 13 of 15 on the local level; 20 of 25 at the district competition; and 21 of 25 on the regional level in Sikeston. She sank 19 of her 25 attempts at the state competition.

Other district level girls champions from the area were Lauren Schaefer (10) of Scott City, Kelly Irvin (11) of Leopold, Kegan Orr (12) of Chaffee and Lindsay Reinagel (13) of Kelso. Boys winners on the district level were Augi Orr (10) of Chaffee, Zachary Hamm (11) of Benton, Alex Ressel (12) of Kelso, Tyler Beussink (13) of Jackson and Jonathan Market (14) of Jackson.
