The Southeast Missouri State women's basketball team heads to SIU Edwardsville for its final road game of the season tonight. The Southeast Missouri State women's basketball team heads to SIU Edwardsville for its final road game of the season tonight.

The Redhawks and Cougars tip off at 7 p.m. from the Vadalabene Center in Edwardsville, Illinois.

Southeast dropped to 10-17 overall and 3-11 in the Ohio Valley Conference with a 49-48 road loss to Eastern Illinois on Saturday. The loss eliminated the Redhawks from reaching the conference tournament for the sixth consecutive year.

SIUE enters tonight's contest as the second-best team in the OVC with a record of 16-11 and 11-3 in the conference. The Cougars are coming off a 79-72 loss to OVC champion UT-Martin on Saturday. Their only conferences losses have come to the undefeated Skyhawks and Jacksonville State in their conference opener.

The Cougars average 73.4 ppg and are shooting 44.8 percent from the field in their 14 conference games.

Junior guard Shronda Butts leads SIUE and is third in the conference averaging 19.9 points. She is shooting 52 percent from the field.

Senior guard Tierny Austin averages 12.8 points and 7.4 rebounds, and freshman center Gwen Adams averages 11.6 points and 6.2 rebounds.

The Cougars defeated Southeast 60-48 on Jan. 20. Austin led with 12 points, freshman guard Donshel Beck added 11 points and nine rebounds, and sophomore forward Micah Jones and Adams each scored 10. Jones also snagged 10 rebounds. Butts was limited to eight points against the Redhawks.

Senior guard Jasmine Robinson leads Southeast, averaging 12.6 points in the OVC. She's averaged 17.6 over the past five games.

Sophomore guard Brianna Mitchell has averaged 16.5 points in the Redhawks' last two games and had a team-high 20 in the loss to EIU.

Southeast shot just 26.8 percent from the field against the Panthers, including 1 of 9 from behind the 3-point arc.

The Redhawks' final game of the season is at home Saturday against Austin Peay.

Baseball changes

The weather continues to alter the Southeast baseball team's schedule.

Southeast announced Tuesday that today's scheduled game at Arkansas State was cancelled and has not been rescheduled yet.

The Redhawks' home weekend series against Bradley has been moved to the Major League Baseball Urban Youth Academy in New Orleans. Game 1 is set for 11 a.m. Friday.

The teams will then play a doubleheader at 11 a.m. Saturday and conclude the series at noon Sunday.

Southeast's midweek home game with Saint Louis next week has been pushed back a day to 3 p.m. Wednesday. The game also has been moved to GCS Ballpark in Sauget, Illinois.

The Redhawks and Billikens are now slated to play in Cape Girardeau on March 24.
