A trio of Southeast Missouri State track and field athletes received Ohio Valley Conference weekly honors.
Blake Smith was named co-male track athlete of the week, Mary Dohogne was named female track athlete of the week and Jason Walker was named co-male field athlete of the week, the league announced Wednesday.
Smith, a senior from Jackson, was third in the 100-meter dash at the Tennessee Relays over the weekend. His time of 10.31 seconds is the best in the conference so far this season and ranks 14th nationally. He shared the honor with Eastern Kentucky distance runner Ambrose Maritim.
Dohogne, a senior who graduated from Central, was eighth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Tennessee Relays. She posted the second fastest time in school history at 10 minutes, 56.38 seconds, which is also the best in the conference.
Walker, a junior from Festus, was Southeast's top finisher at the Tennessee Relays, finishing second in the discus with a throw of 168 feet, 3 inches. That distance ranks second in the OVC. He shared the weekly honor with Belmont thrower Austin Landis.
The Redhawks are slated to compete at the three-day Indiana State Gibson Invite in Terre Haute, Indiana, beginning today.
