MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- Southeast Missouri State University's volleyball team dropped its opening game in the Powerade Panther Invitational Friday night, falling to the host squad Wisconsin-Milwaukee in three sets.
Wisconsin-Milwaukee won 30-19, 30-15, 31-29.
Southeast fell to 1-3 on the season while the Panthers evened their mark at 2-2.
Bobbi Carlile and Jessica Houpt led Southeast with eight kills apiece. Suzanne Gundlach turned in seven digs while Emily Scannell had 22 assists.
Wisconsin-Milwaukee Chrissy Schurla had a match-high 11 kills to become just the fourth Panther to reach the career 1,000-kill plateau.
Southeast will face DePaul and Drake today in tournament play.
