The Southeast Missouri State softball team continued its fall exhibition schedule Sunday by dropping both ends of a doubleheader to Memphis.
Southeast lost the opener 1-0 in eight innings and the nightcap 10-4.
Southeast had only two hits in the opener, by sophomores Savannah Carpenter and Chelsea Smith.
Freshman Aubrey Denno pitched all eight innings for the Redhawks, giving up six hits.
The Redhawks outhit Memphis 9-7 in the nightcap but four Southeast errors led to five unearned runs.
Carpenter homered and doubled, driving in three runs. Freshman KC Saxe added two hits.
Freshman Keaira Shilling took the loss, allowing all 10 runs, five earned, on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings.
Southeast continues fall exhibition play Oct. 6 at home against Saint Louis.
