Southeast Missouri State's Marc Maton and Megan Parks each broke school records in the 1,000-meter run at the Redhawks Invitational on Friday night against the University of Memphis.
Maton's time of 2 minutes, 26.25 seconds was good for first and bested Paul Stemmerman's time of 2:27.60 from 2009.
Parks took first in 2:53.33, which shattered Janelle Quigley's 1998 record of 2:56.70.
Jace Mortimer won the men's mile in 4:33.80.
Haile Wilson was second in the 55 meter run with a time of 6.33 seconds and James Kosbar was second in the 800 (1:59.87)
Dalton Huffman was second in the high jump (6 feet, 2 3/4 inches), Jacob Kent was second in the long jump (23-8) and Chris Martin was second in the triple jump (50-3 1/4).
Christian Locke and Dylan Rush took second and third in the pole vault with heights of 17-3/4 and 16-7 1/4, respectively.
Jason Walker was third in the weight throw with a toss of 54-7 1/4.
Macy Ritter won the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.33. Sidne' Williamson was first in the 200 (27.04) and took third in the long jump with a distance of 17-9 3/4.
Anna Thomas won the 800 in 2:30.23. Andrea George took second in the mile (5:33.70).
Chante Mosby and Abi Sowash finished in a second-place tie with a height of 5-3 3/4 in the high jump.
Aaliah Herron was second in the shot put (45-9) and weight throw (54-8 3/4).
The Redhawks compete at the OVC Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday in Nashville, Tennessee. The Southeast men won the title last season and the women finished third.
The Illinois State gymnastics team topped Southeast 193.850-193.550 on Friday night at Houck Field House.
The Redhawks trailed by 1/10th of a point heading into the final rotation, but the Redbirds' 48.650 on beam was enough to best Southeast's 48.450 on floor.
Sophomore Alexis Brawner, who won the all-around with a career-high 39.000, and freshman McKinzie Jones shared the floor title with scores of 9.800.
The Redhawks opened the meet on vault, posting a 47.750. Brawner's 9.750 was good for first while junior Ashley Thomas tied for second with a 9.725.
Southeast scored 48.575 on bars in its second rotation, led by junior Lauren Israel with a 9.775 that was good for second place.
The Redhawks' 48.775 on beam in the third rotation was a season-high. Jones was second with a career-best 9.825.
"I am proud of the strides we made tonight with some of our routines, especially on beam," coach Kristi Ewasko said in a press release. "We continue to build confidence and I have challenged this team to step out of complacency and really step it up next weekend. I believe they are ready to take that next step into the 194 range. Alexis had another stellar night to help push her chances of qualifying for the NCAA regionals. She continues to improve each and every meet and yet still has more room to grow."
Southeast travels to Colorado for a pair of weekend meets. The Redhawks are at Air Force for a dual meet Friday and face Denver, Iowa and Illinois-Chicago in a quad meet Saturday.
The Southeast tennis team lost to Southern Illinois 7-0 Friday night.
Isabella Krupa and Ana Canahuate-Torres lost at No. 2 doubles 6-2.
Mila Majtan and Annisa Warasanti lost 6-1 at the No. 3 doubles match.
Mariya Kostiuk and Anais Emelie did not finish their No. 1 match.
Kostiuk lost 6-3, 5-7, 2-6 in No. 1 singles while Krupa dropped a 6-2, 6-3 decision at the No. 2 singles spot.
Majtan lost in No. 3 action 3-6, 6-0, 3-6.
Emelie, Canahuate-Torres and Warasanti were defeated in straight sets.
"Mariya and Mila played some of the best tennis I have ever seen them play," coach Mary Beth Gunn said in a press release. "The third sets didn't fall in our favor, but we are headed in the right direction. We have a young lineup with three freshmen starting. We're working on getting mentally stronger to handle the pressure points."
SIU improved to 6-3 with the win.
The Redhawks (1-3) face Lipscomb University in Nashville on Saturday.
