The Southeast Missouri State gymnastics team turned in one of the top scores in program history Saturday to notch an impressive victory.
Southeast defeated Texas Woman's University 195.075 to 192.600 at Houck Field House. It was the Redhawks' second straight dual win.
The season-high score ranks ninth on the program's all-time list. Southeast scored season highs in three of the four events -- bars (48.650), beam (48.750) and floor (49.025).
Event winners for Southeast were senior Christina Sundgren on bars (9.800), sophomore Taylor Westrick on beam (9.875, tying her career high) and senior Brianna Gaddie on floor (9.900).
Gaddie and sophomore Emma Garrett tied for second on vault (9.800). Garrett set a career high.
Sophomore Margaret O'Neal was second on bars (9.775), with Westrick third (9.725).
Sophomore Sarah Brillhart placed third on beam (9.750).
Westrick was second on floor (career high 9.850) and Sundgren finished third (career high 9.825).
Westrick captured the all-around title (career high 39.100). Sundgren was third (38.800).
On Thursday, Gaddie received a Midwest Independent Conference award for the sixth straight week. She earned her fourth straight MIC specialist of the week honor.
Gaddie was recognized for her performance during last week's win over Illinois State.
Gaddie's winning vault score of 9.900 set a career high and ranks fifth on the program's all-time list. She added a title on the floor.
Southeast competes again Friday at Central Michigan.
Southeast track and field athletes turned in strong performances during Friday's annual Redhawks Invitational, their only home meet of the indoor season.
The Redhawks won six events in the competition held at the Student Recreation Center on campus.
Other squads that participated were Austin Peay, Murray State, Memphis, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Mississippi College and Rust College.
Three Southeast athletes who graduated from local high schools captured titles.
Sophomore Jill Schnurbusch from Notre Dame won the pole vault with a height of 11 feet, 5 3/4 inches.
Schnurbusch and teammate Erica Grajales had the same mark, but Schnurbusch prevailed in a jumpoff.
Senior Brianna Egbuka from Central took the weight throw with a distance of 54-6.
Freshman Tyson Stoverink from Jackson won the 1,000 meters with a time of 2 minutes, 51.56 seconds.
Other event winners for Southeast were Ryan Criglar in the long jump (22-7), Chris Johnson in the triple jump (45-6 1/4) and Brent Collins in the 3,000 meters (9:20.06).
Southeast will compete at the Ohio Valley Conference indoor championships Friday and Saturday in Charleston, Ill.

The Southeast tennis squad remained winless with Saturday's 6-1 home loss to Morehead State in the OVC opener for both squads.
Southeast is 0-4 overall and MSU is 3-7.
Freshman Elizabeth Nyenwe posted Southeast's only win. She notched her first collegiate victory, beating Alexandra Rydberg 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.
The Redhawks' next match is March 5 at home against defending OVC tournament champion Austin Peay.
