Southeast Missouri State softball coach Lana Richmond recently completed her staff with the hiring of assistant Elizabeth Economon.
Economon joins another recent assistant hire, Killian Roessner.
Economon will work closely with the Redhawks hitters and middle infielders. Additional duties include assisting in recruiting.
Economon, a St. Louis native, comes to Southeast after spending the last four years as a high school coach in New Mexico. She also has been an assistant at Truman State, her alma mater, and was a volunteer assistant at the University of New Mexico.
Economon was a four-year starter and three-time All-American at Truman State who later played professionally.
"I remember Elizabeth from her playing days," Richmond said in a release. "How she approaches and respects the game is exactly what we look for in our program. We are very fortunate to have her as a member of our staff."
The Southeast baseball program, which currently is conducting fall practice, invites the public to Friday's scrimmage, set for 4 p.m. at Capaha Field.
Southeast returns numerous key players from last year's team that went 30-25.
