The Southeast Missouri State volleyball rebounded from a conference loss to knock off Tennessee-Martin in three games Saturday.
The host Redhawks downed UT-Martin 25-18, 25-14, 27-25 to improve to 10-15 overall and 6-8 in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Karleigh DeLong paced the Redhawks with 16 kills and added nine digs, while Emily Hughes recorded 10 kills and four block assists in the win.
Sarah Barth put up 37 assists and Emily Maher finished with nine kills. Molly Davis had 14 digs and Claire Keaton added 13.
Southeast only recorded two hitting errors and finished with a .457 hitting percentage in the second game.
Southeast suffered a 25-16, 18-25, 25-19, 25-18 home loss to Murray State on Friday night.
DeLong led the Redhawks with 21 kills, while Keaton added 14 kills.
Barth recorded her third double-double of the season and first since recently returning from a broken wrist that had sidelined her for much of the OVC schedule. She recorded 47 assists and 13 digs.
Davis led the defense with 16 digs.
Murray State was paced by Notre Dame Regional High School graduate Ashley Nenninger with 16 kills.
The Redhawks visit Southern Illinois-Edwardsville on Tuesday for a nonconference match before resuming OVC play Friday at home against Morehead State.
Cross country
The Southeast men finished third Saturday at the OVC meet in Nashville, Tenn.
Redhawks junior Jason Lumpkin earned second-team all-OVC honors with his eighth-place finish. He covered the 8-kilometer course in 26 minutes, 44.40 seconds.
Freshman Tyler Mullen finished 17th (27:23.27), followed by Chris Loseman (22nd, 27:40.86), Cody Martin (23rd, 27:44.31) and Brandon Funderburk (32nd, 28:10.05).
Eastern Kentucky captured the team title with 22 points, followed by Eastern Illinois (89) and Southeast (98).
The Redhawks women placed fourth, with Monica Noble and Szandra Pal both earning second-team all-OVC honors.
Noble, a junior, crossed the line at the 5K course in 20:28.72 for ninth place, while it took Pal 20:33.56 to finish 12th.
Rounding out the scoring for the Redhawks were Central graduate Linnea Woldtvedt (26th, 21:30.88), Kasey Owens (28th, 21:32.71) and Liz Speicher (29th, 21:35.22).
Eastern Kentucky won the team title with 32 points, followed by Murray State (63), Eastern Illinois (65) and Southeast (104).
Women's soccer
Bobbi Jo Schlick scored the game's lone goal 2 minutes, 20 second into overtime Friday night as the Southeast soccer team ended its season with a 1-0 nonconference win at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville.
Southeast finished with an 8-7-3 record. The Redhawks went 2-3-3 in OVC play as they failed to qualify for the six-team conference tournament.
Schlick's goal, from 10 yards out, came off an assist from Mabel Velarde after she sent the ball into the box.
Schlick, a freshman from Jackson, led the Redhawks with six goals this season.
Freshman keeper Kristen Starkey recorded her seventh shutout of the season as she recorded six saves.
The Redhawks held a 12-11 edge in shots over the Cougars (2-10-2).
